SHIVA TEXTILES DIWALI AD | SANTHOSH PHOTOGRAPHY

Diwali in a typical middle and upper middle class Indian family is not a one day festival but it is a month long celebration, starting with budgeting and doing a detailed Google search on purchasing the latest fashion trends! On this line of emotion, we at Santhosh Photography conceptualised a unique TVC for Shiva Textiles with the tagline “Vaara Vaaram aaravaaram”. The client had rolled out a month-long Diwali sale with offers going on for each section, each week. The TVC ad wanted to convey the attractive offers on women’s wear, men’s wear, kids section and silk saree sections. In order to purchase the festival clothing while these offers run, the daughter-in-law prepares a detailed list and explains about these offers to her sister-in-law, a college going girl. Since this was an information filled TVC, we brought in a humour element, where the husband who is spraying water on the indoor plants, misses his aim in the excitement of hearing about the offers, and accidentally sprays water on his father’s face. Photo Shoot For “The Chennai Silks Wedding Collections”

This photoshoot is a challenging assignment for me. In many silk saree photo shoot I normally shoot either one model or three models maximum. But this shoot brief was given to me The Chennai Silks would like to have a combination shot like friends having a group photo at a celebration. Including two kids there were a total nine models. Me and my stylist have segregated costumes as per the color theme. In group photo the models’ costumes should maintain some color theme. According to the costume colors I have selected the floor tile pattern and furniture, because the props should complementthe costumes. And my stylist took lot of effort to select the jewelry. Stylist and I saw lot of references for bridal jewelry. Each religious bride has some uniqueness in their wedding jewelry, so based on that my stylist chose the jewelry. Now the challenge is everyone’s costumes have to be seen well and all they have to express well for one click. Unveiling the Behind the Scenes of an Ad Shoot

When people watch a TVC, Ad film, it flashes past in 20 or 30 seconds. Yet, behind it lies hours and days of planning and preproduction. In a recent shoot, with Actress Priya Bhavanishankar, for Indian Flower leggings and jeggings, this is exactly what happened. Attention to detail was everything. Whether it was the costumes design, the colours in the frame, the camera angle or the camera movement. Whether it was detail in makeup or hairstyles, expressions or art direction… everything was planned and executed to perfection. To capture modern lifestyle activities we chose a beach house as the location. The concept of this adfilm is to capture leggings in women’s today’s lifestyle. Right from the early morning gym till evening terrace party. Dop farook j basha did excellent cinematography, art director Karthik rajkumar did a fabulous production design. Swimmer Agnishwar Jeyaprakash

I’ve done a couple of portrait photo sessions with Swimmer Agnishwar Jeyaprakash . This time, however, I thought I’d do something different from the photo shoots that I did earlier with Agnishwar. Since he’s a Swimmer I decided to shoot with more splashes of water. So, one fine day we got together at the beach early in the morning – around 5.30am to catch the Sunrise and capture some nice and interesting cloud patterns. To fill-in light I used my Elinchrome Ranger battery pack. Some action from Atheletes while photographing, always make for interesting portraits, so I asked Agnishwar to get into the sea and sit in front of waves and this got me nice splashy water shots of him in the sea. Being Sunrise, I was able to take amazing shots of the glitter and sparkle on the water. Do hope you all love the images.
